The auricle, or pinna, is the external structure of the ear that collects and channels sound. In the heart, the auricle is a small, ear-like appendage of the atrium—the “Herzohr.” As a choreographic score for sonic agency, it digs into the bottom of the ear to awaken layers of the preserved and repressed. Sourcing from the structure of a clinical hearing test, "auricle" distorts diagnostic protocol into a space of affective and acoustic uncertainty. If hearing happens involuntarily, how do we choose what we listen to?

TUMULT
Tanzzentrale Furth 2025

How does the sound of the surroundings become a permanent element of the inner soundscape? How does it impact our attempts to connect? We are constantly transformed, both mentally and physically, by the sonic and cultural vibrations of our urban and natural environments. Through the research on sound ecology, we dwelled ourselves into embodied interference with the sonic environment of the residency space Alte Schule in Fürth, curated by Barbara Bess.

The choreographic research included attentive exposure to the rhythmic sound waves generated by a wind turbine that is a protagonist of the residency sound/landscape as well as the intense local debate. Collected choreographies and sound imprints were amalgamated into the immersive performative experience of TUMULT.

At our showing at Tanzzentrale Fürth, we presented a 45-minute performance built around polyrhythmic scores. The experience was affected by the soundscape and a spaceship-like video projection of wind turbines. Each performer wore an earpod, each running a unique timer that signalled the start of a new performative score. With six distinct performance scores intertwining, we continuously generated new pictures within the audience.

OHR / Otherworldly Hearing Room
2024

OHR is a project that unfolds its dramaturgies around a core-topic of multiple dimensions of hearing and listening. With their experience as a hard-of-hearing person who uses hearing aids, pati collects choreographies of bodies participating in the act of communication under the violent condition of audism.

Otherworldly Hearing Room is an artistic translation of such an overwhelming, cross-sensory act of communication. The overwhelming quality of this act is amplified and decomposed along with a dark and auratic soundscape designed by Alexandru Șalariu.

It's an attempt to bring out the invisibility of the hearing loss condition, to turn it upside down, also by subverting and reclaiming aspects of volume and precision of audial expression.

OHR has been performed during the Jahresaustellung 2024 at Akademie of Fine Arts Nürnberg, as a part of master program for performance practices Live Art Forms.

Oryngham

“ORYNGHAM” is a site-specific performance setting the body of a performer in the state of deep, reciprocal listening to its environment. performance immerses the co-listeners into the audio-visual meditative journey.

The costume is grown in the soil of the site and woven out of roots. this endotic, skin-like material is meant to capture the phenomenology and temporality of growth and decomposition at the same time. during the performance, the textile remains a connective tissue between my body and the body of nature – both in the process of gradual degradation. this skin-to-skin touch serves as a continuum of stimulation as i simultaneously stay in deep contact with the larger scope of sounds and information, transmitted by the more-than-human co-conspirators of the performing momentum.

“Oryngham means thank you for listening in the language of plants. it's not a word, as we humans understand it, because its meaning cannot be spoken - nor can it be heard. however, we can experience it by feeling with our bodies and listening to what our ears cannot hear.”

OGNOSIA
2022

Planet Ognosia is an eco-somatic Live Action Role Play (LARP) that merges embodied storytelling, somatic awareness, and speculative worldbuilding.

Originally developed during the festival Zukunftsvisionen 2022 in Görlitz (DE) under the theme IN TOUCH, the project invites participants to enter a state of radical presence and sensory openness through guided meditations and site-responsive improvisations.

In this evolving narrative, players become Tender Narrators — collective, perceptive entities who listen to and move with the more-than-human environment. Through this participatory fiction, Planet Ognosia proposes an alternative mode of perception, where human bodies, urban and natural ecologies, and digital realities interweave in a shared field of sensorial intelligence.

Grounded in eco-somatic dramaturgy, the work explores interoception, interbeing, and polysingularity as tools for disrupting anthropocentric narratives. Each iteration unfolds as a living ecosystem — a nomadic, non-linear choreography of attention, where story, land, and body become one continuous medium of transformation.

Planet Ognosia is an uncharted reality that seeps through the cracks of what we think we know — a collective experiment in remembering our Earthly interconnectedness.

OPEN SOMA - Shared Practice is a somatic movement practice developed by pati masłowska following a commission by the AdBK Nürnberg to create a series of open-level classes exploring the body and bodily expression. Over nine sessions, participants engage with different body parts and systems, tracing and sensing opening qualities on the edge between imagination and physical experience.

Each session guides a continuous somatic journey: cultivating mindful awareness of the body, followed by spontaneous movement. The practice emphasizes the pleasures and insights that emerge when the body is attentively mapped, moving within the liminal space between speculative and tangible experience. Participants explore how imagination shapes bodily states and senses, fostering a deepened connection to both individual and collective embodiment.

OPEN SOMA offers a non-judgmental platform for exploration and experimentation, adaptable to diverse educational, research, and artistic contexts. The methodology has been successfully implemented to activate research practices at Art Laboratory Berlin and Weimar Design Academy, demonstrating its potential to enrich interdisciplinary programs and workshops.

The practice can be taught as an ongoing series, intensive workshop, or module, offering institutions a versatile framework for somatic learning, creative exploration, and embodied research.
