Pati Masłowska

Pati Masłowska (b. 1990) is a Germany-based Polish performance artist, dramaturg, and dreaming practitioner working with embodied imagination, sonic ecologies, and astrology. Their practice explores the poetics and politics of perception, and the body as a site of listening, transmission, and transformation.

With a background in literature and linguistics (BA, University of Adam Mickiewicz, Poznań) and contemporary dance (Northern School of Contemporary Dance, UK), Pati recently completed an MA in performance practices (Live Art Forms) at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg, in the class of Prof. Johannes Paul Raether. Their work is deeply informed by their experience as a hard-of-hearing person using hearing aids. Pati researches choreographies of sonic agency and the bodily experience of communication under the condition of audism. Thye track how hearing, from the tactile ear membrane through the complexity of psychoacoustic, to the sociopolitical level, remains a field shaped by longing to connect, fear of mis/communication, and vulnerability.

Their extended research project OHR - Otherworldly Hearing Room investigates altered auditory states and relational listening, unfolding through speculative performances and sonic installations. Within this framework, the performance-installation Auricle (Space Between, Nurnberg, 2025) reimagines the classic hearing test as a shared, spatially-sensitive ritual of resonance and response. Tumult (2024) explored how sonic interference shapes our inner landscapes and capacity for connection. Engaging with sound ecology and the embodied impact of the environment, Pati worked with the rhythmic vibrations generated by a nearby wind turbine—an ever-present sonic element of the site.

Their choreography Oryngham about listening to the language of plants was selected for Tanz im August’s Interconnecting Dance and Ecology program in Berlin, August 2023. As a dramaturg, Pati has collaborated on productions at Tafelhalle Nuremberg and Kulturforum Fürth. Since 2019, they have been a collaborator in Grace Euna Kim’s Acid Bodies—a hybrid platform for radical pedagogy and immersive performance—presented at ZK/U, Haus der Statistik, and Uferstudios in Berlin.

Alongside their performance practice, Pati is a scholar of Embodied Astrology and an alumna of the International Institute for Dreaming and Imagery.
